Top Spots to Live for Every Lifestyle

By Micaela Carucci

Boston.com recently compiled a list of some of the best places to live in the Boston and Greater Boston area, based on particular interests and lifestyles.

Cambridge, for example, was named the top spot for single friendly activities and night life. With relatively affordable condo prices, and plenty of live music venues, pubs, and late-night restaurants to choose from, it’s an appealing location for those looking to go out and mingle.

Brookline, on the other hand, was named the top spot for great schools and kid friendly activities. The public schools in Brookline spend over $4,000 more per student than the national average, so it is no surprise that their MCAS scores are consistently among the highest in the state. The town also offers numerous playgrounds, dance classes, and children’s theatre productions to keep kids busy.

The top spot for “foodies” went to the South End, with its abundant and eclectic mix of restaurants. Whether you’re in the mood for Italian, French, Chinese or Greek – or want to be a little more daring with Middle Eastern and even Ethiopian Cuisines – the South End has it. And for those who enjoy cooking at home, the South End offers unique markets like the Formaggio and Lionette’s.

There are 12 other categories, with “runner ups” for each. To view the entire list, click here.
